Betrayal

26 Feb

It’s an emotion that most detest and loathe
Yet it seeps in through the tiniest nook and cranny
Even after all the gaps are closed
It’s infinite presence is alarmingly uncanny

Sitting in darkness – it trickles in from the smallest gap
Gnaws at the edges of frayed nerves
And erodes away the calm of the soul
It devours in the restlessness and relishes anxiety

Such is the nature of betrayal
It’s ability to nestle itself in the deepest corners of the soul
Growing and thickening as years pass by
Relentlessly present as a reminder of the past

I’m jealous. I’m never able to put my thoughts into poetry. You have a gift! <3

Thank you so much! This is a bit of an experiment for me – poetry is not my forte but I am really glad that you liked it :)

Hi, I’m here to collect my penny. Beautiful poetry, as a poet myself I am quite fond of the written word. :-) Betrayal….. One of those nasty emotions, poisons us from the inside out..

Thank you for your kind words. Poetry is an experiment for me, I am glad that you liked it and that the emotion was well perceived.

PS: Your penny is in the post :)
